[She's been gone for a couple of days?? Why didn't Fenris tell him????]
And she didn't say anything about running off for epic adventures on the planet or Happy Hour at the tavern...
[It's not a question, it's a statement; he knows her more than well enough for that. If there are deliberate adventures to be had, friends will be told and dragged along. He's just thinking aloud here.]
[Hawke will tense momentarily when he notices the cat, but he relaxes again when he sees its the little flat-faced one. Even though the evil one is probably just laying in wait for the perfect time to strike
Hawke has no objection to cuddles, so he'll just be settling in to do that long-term, now.]
[Hawke will always make more room on his plate for his friends!!
It's still a little jarring when his companions use his given name...though really it only makes sense in this place, given that there are two of him here.]
We'll find her, Fenris. We just have to ask around.
[Starting at their favorite tavern, and working their way down the (very long) list to their least favorite. Lucky thing they have enough in common that all her usual haunts are also his, isn't it?]
[When Hawke gets back from whatever task he's been doing for whatever stranger he ran into today, he might notice an overturned coffee cup on the table, with a cat sniffing curiously at its spilled contents. And there are also splashing noises coming from the bathroom.]
No, Pearl, stay in. Here's the ball, you want to play with the ball?
[If he decides to investigate, he might notice a coffee-stained shirt on the floor. And an equally coffee stained pair of pants. And a nearly-naked Anders crouched over the bathtub.]
I'm not sure you should be drinking the water you're bathing in.
[How astute, Hawke has noticed all of these things. He even has the presence of mind to shoo the curious cat away from the spilled coffee, in case it thinks it needs to taste it, before following the splashing sounds and the trail of clothing toward the bathroom.
Upon reaching the bathroom doorway Hawke pauses, and leans against the door frame in order to take the time to fully appreciate the scene before him.]
What's going on? How come no one invited me to puppy bath time?
[Anders turns to look at Hawke over his shoulder, offering a brief smile. Pearl is very excited though, jumping up and trying to get her paws up on the edge of the bath, yipping excitedly. Too bad she's still too small to be seen.]
Hello, love. I... had to wash her.
[whoops feeling guilty, even as Pearl keeps trying to get Hawke's attention. She can smell him there, he better come say hi!]
[Of course Hawke will come into the bathroom properly to see his dog. He'll even lean over the edge of the bath to pet her wet little head, at great risk of getting his own clothes wet due to the splashes wiggly little dogs tend to make. (Although at least she's not a mabari...the entire bathroom would be dripping if that were the case!)]
What happened?
[Although the spilled coffee and stained, abandoned clothing out in the living area do give him some clue...]
She got scared. [she's so tiny!] But she seems to have forgotten about it now.
[the kiss does help, and he'll tug Hawke down next to him. They can both play with Pearl for a bit. She's currently trying to catch a tiny blue ball in her mouth, but it keeps slipping away from her.]
[He lets himself be tugged down, and kneels on the floor next to Anders to watch the dog paddle around in the tub.]
And she needs to be more careful when getting underfoot.
[He may love the little puffball, but he's by no means blind to her faults. Her desire to be close often has her more underfoot than is safe either for her or the people around her.
He reaches out to catch the little blue ball she's trying so diligently to get, and offers it to her. She takes it from his fingers into her mouth with a happy yip, though it's not long at all before she lets it go in order to return chasing after it.]
She could stand to be more careful about laps, too.
[If Anders is worried Hawke is going to be upset, then he's worried for nothing. Accidents happen, and if they're going to happen, Anders would be the person Hawke would want to have around to take care of things afterward.]
She should sleep well tonight, at least.
[Look at how hard she's paddling with her stumpy little legs after her ball! She is the most adorable.]
[He did take good care of her! He healed her before healing herself, and made sure to wash all the coffee out of her fur. And then made sure she forgot about all the trauma.
He sure acts like he hates dogs, doesn't he.]
She does get tired really easily.
[Although for now she is full of energy! And so determined to catch that ball! If only her splashing wasn't just sending it further away.]
